I understand how frustrating it can be to be rejected after investing a significant effort in the application process. We therefore commit to valuing the time of every candidate we talk to: – First of all, the test assignment normally replaces an in-depth technical interview at Velixo. – Secondly, we never play the numbers game. The test assignment is only offered to candidates who look brilliant at the screening stage – and you did. We deem the test task time estimate realistic for a candidate with the right skillset. Nevertheless, I will contact the existing team members to understand if it needs to be adjusted. Regarding the quirks of Excel automation – yes, one definitely needs to be "inventive"! This is intentional. We select for inventiveness as it is an important success factor in this position. I also apologise if we made the impression that the position was closed when you received the rejection letter. As the letter stated, other candidates were selected for the next steps in the hiring funnel, but the position will only be closed when one of them accepts the offer.
