I was contacted by someone at the company to come in for an interview. At the time I worked for a competing brand and thought it would be an interesting opportunity. I first met wit the CEO and we had a very casual conversation. It went well and he asked if I would meet with the Product Manager as we would likely be working closely together. He had also mentioned that they were still defining this “marketing role” and wanted input to make the role what it should be. I met with the product manager a few weeks later and it was going okay until she asked me to do some “homework.” She asked if I would answer some questions and if I could send my responses in a word doc the following week. I felt super uncomfortable doing but felt they were just some ideas I was putting down. A full page of ideas. I email them over, and didn’t hear back for over a month. I followed up multiple times to finally be told that they eliminated the position.
