I was first approached by a recruiter via LinkedIn. The interview consisted of 4 rounds (all remote) over 3-4 weeks , with an initial interview with the hiring manager, a paired programming tech interview, a soft skills interview, and an interview with regional leadership. This was the most transparent interview process I have encountered in the tech industry. There was never any mystery as to who I would be talking to and what we were talking about. The company’s culture of diversity was readily apparent in the interviewers and their questions. The interviews themselves were quite conversational and I found at times I was actually enjoying myself. I don’t think I could ever say that about any other interview process I have experienced. It was a low anxiety, humane process — and I am usually a rather anxious candidate. For the tech interview, I was given a coding challenge a week in advance During the interview I was to discuss and implement any changes I thought were needed to bring the code up to best practices. My pair partner was friendly and quite helpful. The challenge itself wasn’t all that difficult, but there was an awful lot that needed to be improved and I felt that it gave a pretty good assessment of practical skill and knowledge of Infrastructure as Code. All in all, this was a great interview experience.

The recruiter contacted me via LinkedIn to ask whether interested in the above role. So, I decided to give it a try. The interviewers were professional and the interviews went well. It consists of multiple rounds including- 1. Recruiter screen 2. Code pairing interview 3. Technical interview 4. Cultural fit and leadership interview. After I been through final round interview I was rejected although they claimed I did well in final round. The feedback given was because the company felt my experiences did not align with their current project needs. What was disappointing is that this should have been identified during the initial screening stage, as my background was clearly stated in my resume and also during the recruiter screening. Progressing a candidate through multiple interview rounds, including the final interview, only to reject them for an apparent experience mismatch feels like a waste of the candidate’s time. The recruitment process was also poorly handled. I only received the update for each interview session after I followed up for a status update, rather than being proactively informed. Overall, I would not recommend the interview process due to the inefficient screening and communication. Do not waste your time as I feel they are using candidates to collect certain data or doing market surveys through these processes.
