Entrevista
An Eastern European company that is growing fast but doesn't seem to quite know what it wants yet.
This was for a remote position. I interviewed while it was still Bannersnack and listed its HQ in Romania. (This was only a few weeks ago and at that point they had no developers outside Romania. It seems strange that suddenly they are a US based company...).
It was a bit of a strange process. First I had a HR interview that seemed to be just to see how low a salary I would consider (I gave a very wide salary range that went almost as low as minimum wage and was asked how flexible I was with that!) and going through each technology one by one and asking how many years of experience I had in each.
I then received a coding challenge using the two technologies that I said I had no experience in. I learnt them and sent it back.
After a couple of weeks I had a technical interview with the CTO and a senior developer. General questions about React and whiteboarding. I was asked how fast I could learn other technologies etc. It was clear I wasn't going to get the job and probably shouldn't have made it to this stage.
I got a generic rejection email. When I asked for specific feedback I received no reply.
