*Beware they will contact references about your application as soon they are given contact information* The original application required that all possible employment materials be submitted at the outset, including references. I was called in for a 10 minute screening interview, I was not told a head of time that it would be a short interview due to constraints on the interviewers schedule. I was a standard quick get to know you with some questions about my background and what to expect from the firm. I was told there would be another round of call back interviews. None of this was out of the ordinary. What was odd was that almost immediately after the interview, and prior to any talks about a call back interview, the firm contacted all of my references. Prior to hearing this information, I was considering withdrawing my application as I did not feel the position was going to be a good fit. The kicker is that they never even bothered to bring me back for a call back interview despite taking up the time of my references.
