Entrevista
People at Spekit were great!
First, I met with the VP of Engineering. It was scheduled for 30 minutes, but the conversation was so enjoyable that it lasted an hour. We just chat about my background and what I'm looking for, and he told me more about the company and answered any questions I had.
There was a take home assignment to build a project, push the code to a GitHub repo, and deploy it on Heroku. A 1 hour meeting was scheduled with 3 engineers to do a code review, which simulated a real world working session. They asked me questions about my code and gave constructive feedback.
I really liked that the take home assignment and code review felt very relevant to the role I was applying for. It just felt like a fun conversation about the work I did. Overall, the experience was A+!
Their coding challenge was disorganized and they kept asking for changes to be made after submission so they could give feedback. I even used the tool they linked in the description and they asked me to change it. I spent a while on it and I got an automated email saying they would keep my application on file with zero feedback. What's worse is they kept confusing the job title I applied for in their emails.
