After selected, you may have 1 or 2 people interview you, then the HR recruiter is the one that supposed to get back to you. From my experience, most of them don't get back to you to let you know when you are not selected so you figure after a week or 2 you know you weren't. It's bad that you have call them to find out, especially if they tell you a time frame that they will contact you to let you know the status.
