I found the position on Indeed, submitted my resume, and received a call-back soon after. We had a brief call about my experiences and education, and then we agreed to meet up that week for an in-person interview. She wanted to go somewhere near me, for convenience. I had an in-person interview/lunch at a local restaurant where we discussed the position, my experience, and got to know each other. It was incredibly informal, but I really appreciated it. She paid for my lunch and invited me to visit the site, although I was already "sold" on the job from our talk.
