      Entrevista

The interview process was very long and intensive, lasting over a month and involving five stages: an initial recruiter call, interviews with the hiring manager, stakeholders and culture-focused interviewers, followed by a take-home task and a final presentation to an analytics manager. Although the role was advertised as Senior Data Analyst, the expectations felt like several roles combined into one. The position appeared to require running client meetings, gathering requirements, sourcing and engineering data, performing analysis, building dashboards, presenting insights to stakeholders, and mentoring the team alongside strong SQL skills and elements of data engineering. This made the role feel more like a “unicorn” position rather than a clearly scoped analytics role. Most of the non-technical interviews felt very tick-box driven, with limited opportunity for genuine discussion. The final presentation stage was particularly disappointing, as the interviewer appeared disengaged and the session was cut short despite the significant time investment required. I was required to submit the full take-home task in advance of the presentation, without a clear explanation as to why this was necessary. Given the level of work involved and the request for full access to the materials, I felt it was necessary to watermark the work and restrict downloading, although full access was still requested. I later noticed similar comments on Glassdoor from other candidates who felt uncomfortable sharing their work prior to or after the presentation stage and yes they were also rejected. After being informed that I did not pass the final stage, no feedback was provided initially and I had to follow up to request it, which was disappointing given the length and intensity of the process. After the process concluded, I noticed on LinkedIn that the role did not appear to have been filled, although it is possible the successful candidate is not active on the platform. Overall, the interview journey felt hectic and overly drawn out, with a high time commitment expected from me but limited engagement and communication in return. While the company’s mission and product are compelling, the interview experience could benefit from clearer role definition, more engaged interviews, and more transparent feedback.
