Applied after finding the role online. Received a series of relaxed/friendly (or you might say, unprofessional in tone?) emails leading up to an interview invite. Interview was set to be a full day assessment centre, which seemed very corporate for a small independent leisure industry business. A candidate shouldn't be pushed into a group activity with the other candidates, or even get to meet their direct competitors for the job. Declined at that stage since the role isn't senior enough or rewarded appropriately for having to jump through that many hoops. It emerged that the salary was a set £24k, with no bandwidth that considered a candidate's experience levels. Interviewees were also expected to arrange their own lunch. A bit of an imposition given that they're a business's guests for a full day. Notably, all candidates failed or quit the interview process and the role has been re-advertised. Either the recruitment process needs to be revised, or the salary offer adjusted.
