Hey, thanks for raising this to us. Let me clarify some of the points for you and others who might stumble upon here. If these make sense to you and still feel that people deserve good jobs worthy of their talent & and are not afraid of an assignment please do apply here: https://angel.co/signzy/jobs
Q: Why do we don’t allow the solution to be hosted on Github or other public forums?
A: We don’t allow this because there are triple-digit numbers of candidates working on every assignment over a weekend. Some people would work on Sat, some on Sunday. So ensuring every candidate gets a fair chance and someone just doesn’t copy another person’s hard work & get selected for further rounds of interviews. This is done to protect your hard work from getting stolen & getting a chance for further interviews at Signzy.
You are free to post the solution on Github post 1 week time, in case you would like to add it to your portfolio.
Q: Is Signzy getting work done from candidates for free?
A: Signzy has a team of over 40 talented developers working day and night towards achieving our goal of creating the Digital trust. Working with AI capabilities to solve complex onboarding challenges across the world is something we do day in and out. And following is something that probably should be thought through by candidates who might feel this way :
1. Problem statements are not even related to Signzy business domain, why would that be?
2. How would a simulation interface or a single configuration file be of any use to a company like Signzy
3. Our team wouldn’t have spent over 100 hours combined in going through the submissions, when we could ourselves make the asked system in 2 hours.
Q: Why do you need to give an assignment?
A: Without assignment, one way of selection can be resumes, but that leads to a bias of college, marks and resume writing skills. Assignment gives a fair chance to people who might have missed out earlier in life. Would you hire a carpenter without looking at his work?
