I feel quite disrespected by this companies interview process.
I initially had a call with a recruiter who stressed that Rippling firmly believed in Leetcode question style interviews.
Given this, I spent a weekend grinding these problems only to be met with something completely different in the actual interview.
The technical interview consisted of defining a class and implementing some basic functions on it.
However the interviewer did a very poor job of explaining what was being requested, and it took 10 minutes of prodding to get to “create a class that implements” methods x y and z. I started with a text file containing some unrelated code and it was quite unclear what he wanted me to actually do.
Something as simple as “what are the desired inputs and outputs to this program” and “where do I type” would have made this clear.
The functions themselves were quite basic, so really it was just a test of how quickly you can understand a the HackerRank platform and a convoluted set of instructions under pressure
