First step was a Codibility test related to anagrams - 1 hour to solve it.
A few weeks after that, there was the first zoom interview with 3 software engineers. Questions were related to my own background, database and architecture scalability, micro-services, and others.
Fortunately the second interview was skipped and I was pushed to the final interview. It was with the general manager. Questions were related to risk assessment, handling conflicts between team and client, etc.
In order to provide proof of English proficiency. I also had to pass an online TOEIC test, which was fully paid by Rakuten.
The engineers and general manager were friendly and made me feel comfortable. I was positively impressed by the HR team as they were very supportive, answered all my questions in a timely-fashion, and handled the interview process extremely smoothly.

Problem-solving related to anagrams on Codibility;
Scalability of different DB types and when to use them;
What are micro-services and its applicability;
Big O notation and algorithmic complexity;
Agile methodologies - waterfall and scrum;
Assess risk on implementing a certain feature on a specific project;
How to handle workplace-related conflicts on a certain scenario;
Etc.
The whole recruitment process was straightforward and fast, there were level of interviews. First was HR interview, then a user interview, and finally the final interview. The whole interview process took about 1 month from scheduling, but was about 2 months from application.
Referred by Rakuten employee and got up to 3 positions to apply. After HR checked your resume and fit, totally 3 interviews came: hiring manager, team leader & senior manager.
