      Entrevista

First Stage: I originally found the listing for ROI Revolution's Social Media Marketing Analyst position on my university's job board, and I applied via that job board, as well as online via ROI Revolution's website, by submitting a resume and cover letter. A day later, I was contacted by a corporate recruiter and informed that, though the Social Media Marketing Analyst position had been filled, the company felt that I would be a good fit for the Internet Marketing Analyst role. My first interview was a simple 20 minute phone interview where questions were asked about my work experience. At the end, I was informed that ROI Revolution was interested in bringing me in for a series of assessments to complete in their corporate office in Raleigh, NC. In preparation for my assessments appointment and as requested by the company, I filled out a more formal paper application (detailed work history, references, education background, etc.), a Kolbe personality test, and a background authorization form. I also brought in an unofficial hard copy of my undergraduate transcript as well as hard copies of my resume and cover letter. Second Stage: Before beginning the assessments, I was given a tour of the office by the corporate recruiter. The first part of my assessments appointment in the corporate office consisted of a one-hour, 80 question test. The test questions were an assortment of brain-teaser type questions that ranged from mathematical questions to questions involving pattern recognitions and synonym and analogy questions. The second part of the assessments appointment consisted of another personality test (the Hartman Value Profile) as well as a grammatical test. The grammatical test involved recognizing sentence errors, correct word choices, and correct word spellings. I was told that I would hear within a few days how they company would choose to proceed; however, I was called and informed later that afternoon by the corporate recruiter that ROI Revolution wanted to bring me in for a more formal, panel interview. In the appointment e-mail for this interview, I was given a handful of links to read in preparation that contained information about SEM and Pay-Per-Click advertising. I was also told to bring a few hard copies of my resume and cover letter for the other panel members. Third Stage: My formal, panel interview was with the corporate recruiter who originally contacted me, as well as three other ROI Revolution team members. The questions in this interview addressed my ongoing job search, my previous work and educational experience, my experience with Google AdWords and SEM, previous managerial experiences, and other various questions gauging my fit for the job. It lasted about 25 minutes. I was told that I would hear from ROI Revolution within a few days how they would choose to proceed; however, I received an e-mail from the corporate recruiter about 10 minutes after completing my interview saying that they had chosen to move forward with another candidate. I do appreciate ROI Revolution's quick processing and turnaround time with each stage of my interview process, including its conclusion. However, the abruptness and extremely-quick turnaround of this e-mail came as a surprise.

      Entrevista

The interview process at ROI is fairly extensive. After applying, I received an email requesting a phone interview. It was a very basic 30 minute interview with your standard behavioral questions and inquiries as to why you chose to apply to ROI. The recruiter was very polite and didn't drop any curve-ball questions. Following the interview, I was contacted and told they would like for me to visit the building in Raleigh for assessment tests and a brief, in-person interview. The first assessment I had to take was an 80 question logic test that had to be completed within an hour; this test had a mix of pattern recognition, anagram, and math word problems The second assessment was a grammar test with no time limit and basic grammatical correction/fill in the blank questions. The third assessment was a typing test that can be taken multiple times (they're looking for 50+ WPM). After completing these assessments, there was a second 30 minute interview with the recruiter with questions focusing mainly on my resume. Following this visit, I received an email requesting I return for a final panel interview with the recruiter and the managers leading the department. This interview lasted about 45 minutes and was filled with situational questions and questions about my experience with data analysis. I was contacted the evening of my final interview and told they would like to extend an offer. The interview process took around 3-4 weeks and it was very clear they want to hire individuals that will fit in well. The ROI employees I interacted with through the interview process were incredibly professional, responsive, and a pleasure to work with.

ROI's interview process is very thorough, and for me, took place over a series of four rounds which were conducted over about a month's time. Round 1: 15-20 minute phone interview. Very typical behavioral questions and briefly went over my former job experience. At the end of the interview, I was invited into the office for the next round. Round 2: Started out with a brief tour of the office, which I thought was a nice touch but was just a bit awkward since you are asked to wear interview attire and the rest of the office was dressed casually. After the tour, you move on to what many consider to be the most polarizing part of the interview process which are the assessments. I was put into a conference room by myself and given a series of assessments, which includes 80 logic questions which you are given 60 minutes to complete. They varied from mathematical, to vocabulary, anagrams, patterns, etc. I really do believe ROI just wants to test what thinking style you respond best to and if that would properly correlate to the position you are under consideration for. After this, there are quick grammar and typing assessments. Round 3: Short in-person interview. My interviewer was the same person from HR who performed my phone interview. It is basically a more expanded version of the phone interview, with more in-depth behavioral questions. It took about 20 minutes. Round 4: Final in-person panel interview. I spoke with the same HR representative I had been speaking with for my first two interviews, the head of HR, and the head of the department I would be working under. The interview was very straight-forward, and all the questions were targeted at why I was interested in ROI, what I was looking for in a new position, and my work/educational background. No questions are targeted to catch you off guard, I found they were all straight forward and directed at truly gathering if my experience and personality were a good fit for the position for firm. Overall, despite the interview process being longer than usual, I found it to be largely a positive experience, with everyone being friendly and responsive throughout.

I applied this position through school' s career system. The HR reach out to me very quickly after I submitted my application. Two days later we set a first round phone interview. The first round interview is very basic questions. The HR didn't give any feedback right after my answers, which I felt bad.
