The interview process at Qlik was a tale of two halves. The HR representative was professional, friendly, and efficient—everything you'd hope for when navigating a job opportunity. She deserves full marks. The hiring manager, however, painted a very different picture. Despite my several years of experience at a direct competitor—and having held the exact role I applied for—he took weeks to agree to speak with me. When we finally had the interview, he seemed surprised that I spoke fluent English (despite my 6+ years working with American companies) and promptly asked if I was a Swedish citizen. Upon hearing that I wasn’t, he remarked, “some of our customers require that,” and the interview quickly wrapped with a vague “you’re still under consideration.” Three months later, I received the standard rejection email. This was the only time in my career that I felt my nationality—not my skills or experience—was the deciding factor. Disappointing and frankly unnecessary in today’s global, multicultural work environment. If you’re not Swedish, don't apply ( also there so man better softwares)
