The interview process moved quickly at first but then slowed during the holidays. Everything seemed to go well until they changed the job I was applying for to a different role without telling me. After asking about the change they told me that they gave the position to an internal candidate. I viewed this lack of communication as a sign of how the department probably operates. Like others have mentioned I also got the feeling that there would be little room for advancement. Ultimately I withdrew my application. Everyone did seem friendly
