      Entrevista de Software Engineer

      Sin oferta

Envié una solicitud electrónica. El proceso duró 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en PitchBook (Seattle, WA)

      Entrevista

I had phone interview, then I was given a interview project. I was asked about what I know about the company. Since I did some research, I answered that question. However, then I was asked what's difference between two finance terms. (I applied for a software engineer job, just saying.) Glad I have some finance majored friends, so I answered that questions. Then I was given a project to complete. It took me about five days to complete this project, and I did great follow up as well as communication with them. However, I got rejected with no feedback about the project I did. It was a at least one day project for people who has worked on the same topic before. I think it's a polite/reasonable thing to do to provide with some feedback to candidate who spent their time on the project. I followed up the email with my request for feedback, then I realized the email was sent by a no-reply email. At that point, it was more an insult than just a rejection email.

I am so sorry to hear about your interview experience at PitchBook. Our goal is to provide an amazing candidate experience, and it seems like that in this instance we did not meet that expectation. We will definitely take your feedback into consideration as we evolve our interview process. Thanks again for your candid review.

      Entrevista

The first interview went very smoothly. The interviewer was well-prepared with behavioral and technical questions plus recorded my responses thoroughly. The second interview, on the other hand, was a different story. The interviewer showed up nearly ten minutes late and had no material prepared. The first thing he said was, 'Can we finish at our intended end time?' Throughout the whole interview, he asked only about five random behavioral questions, and his own replies were limited to just one or two sentences. He was not recording any of my responses. He did leave ten minutes at the end for me to ask questions about the company, but he provided generic responses and almost no real explanation of anything. He clearly was going to reject me before the interview even started, felt like borderline discrimination. Not even 12 hours after it, I received a rejection email.
