Manager called me to schedule interview after reviewing my application online. Tip: Don't call the store about your application, it's viewed as an inability to follow instructions. Interview was 30-45 minutes. Spent a lot of time talking about my experience with animals and understanding of care standards. Part of the job is teaching people how to take care of their pets properly, so it's important to have a basic understanding of all the animals the store carries, fish, small mammals, birds and reptiles/amphibians. The traditional questions surrounding strengths and weaknesses, as well as teamwork preferences and leadership ability or management experience give you a chance to brag a bit about being a team player and how you might build on a weakness you have.

Was asked some basic questions pertaining to my knowledge of animals, customer service, etc. It was probably about 30 minutes long and pretty basic. I'd say it's the typical process for a first job for a teenager.
