It all starts with a 1-page article for you to copyedit. After that, you are invited to an assessment covering behaviour questions, maths, logic and small numerical tasks. This a time-controlled exam where there is a very short time to answer- 1.30m or 0.15 sec.

Major red flags. Making it to the final round of interviews was an achievement, but it quickly became apparent that the company had unreasonable expectations. They seemed to be looking for someone willing to toil away without any form of compensation, with uncompensated overtime being a given. Career growth prospects were vague and could take up to five years to materialise. While I'm not against putting in extra effort for personal and career development, the trade off here isn't worth it. Despite making it clear from the outset that work-life balance is important for me, the company seemed to weaponise "passion" to screen out candidates with reasonable boundaries. To add insult to injury, the salary they were offering was a mere pittance of 850 euros, which they expected me to work myself to death for. One particularly intrusive line of questioning focused on my personal life outside of work, which they seemed to take issue with. Apparently, having a life outside of work meant that I couldn't commit to 16-hour workdays. They even went as far as to ask me which other companies I had applied to, which I found quite invasive. While this company may boast top certifications, their growth seems to come at the cost of underpaying and overworking their employees. Needless to say, this a company I would rather avoid - especially as they have a reputation of a high turnover rate. I have not received an offer yet, but no thank you!

Tell me about yourself/ walk me through your CV. Why are you applying for this position? What is your greatest strength/weakness? What is your communication style? How would you manage stakeholder expectations? Why did you leave your previous job? Why should we hire you? What are your salary expectations? A time you showed leadership. These are the ones I remember from the first interview. The second interview with the CEO [?] was more intrusive.
