      Entrevista

This was the longest and most unsuccessful interview process I've experienced. The company overall seems good, but their IT team appeared confused and unsure about the actual requirements for the role. They took 45 days and conducted 6 rounds of interviews—5 technical and 1 HR. Overall, my experience was very disappointing, and they wasted my valuable time, especially since I've been actively searching for new roles for the past 2 months.

      Pregunta 1

If you look at the job description, it includes everything in networking along with a strong requirement for cloud expertise. The first 4 technical interviews were fairly basic, covering whether I knew the technology and some in-depth discussions. However, the 5th and final interview was with their CIO, EVP, or whatever title this person gave himself—essentially the head of IT. He came across as somewhat rude and, because of him, the final round was postponed by 2 weeks. In the 30 minutes I spent with him, I got the impression he was more focused on himself than on the company. My direct hiring manager was very respectful and had approved me for all rounds, but things went south when it came to the CIO. He knew my networking knowledge was solid since I made it to the last round, but with nothing relevant left to ask, he shifted to aptitude questions and even asked about database failures, which are completely unrelated to my field and were not part of the job requirements. I’m not sure why he didn't like me, but after his interview, the recruiter ghosted me for a week, and I eventually received a generic email saying they were moving forward with another candidate—which I’m pretty sure they didn’t have, as I saw the same role reposted on LinkedIn. The recruiter and my direct manager were respectful throughout the entire process, but after my meeting with the CIO, even the recruiter’s tone changed. I believe the CIO should not be making hiring decisions alone because, by not selecting me, he essentially disrespected the entire interview process and everyone involved, including the hiring manager, as if their opinions didn’t matter. I would recommend staying away from this role and team, but overall, Penumbra seems like a good company. Perhaps their other departments are less aggressive.
