I had an interview scheduled with a recruiter at Okta, Lavanya Shahani, and unbelievably—she missed it twice. No notice, no explanation, no follow-up. Just straight-up didn’t show up. Twice. I spent two weeks preparing for this interview. I was genuinely excited about the opportunity and took it seriously. But clearly, that effort didn’t matter to Okta at all. The complete lack of respect and professionalism was honestly outrageous. For a company that prides itself on innovation and professionalism, this was a joke. I have the receipts—emails, screenshots—everything. And if this is how Okta treats people before they even join, I can only imagine what it’s like on the inside. At this point, I’m not even sure why I’d want to keep going with a company that treats candidates like they’re disposable. I’ll be sharing this experience on Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Reddit, and anywhere else I think people should know. Terrible recruiter!
