      Entrevista

Spoke with recruiter. Recruiter didn't seem to know much about the role (read the job ad verbatim and said "I don't know" to nearly all of my questions), and later acknowledged that they're just filling in for the actual recruiter who is out of the office. I was told that they would consider psychologists for the role, but was told by the recruiter at least 2x that they were reluctant to push my candidacy forward because they were concerned I wouldn't accept the pay (note: compensation was not discussed yet at this time; also note I was auto-rejected from a similar role within this company I was overqualified for due to a similar assumption). Interviewed with the hiring manager (also a psychologist) and it was a positive interaction. Following this, I received another e-mail from the recruiter essentially asking if I would confirm whether I would accept a salary range between $xx-xx before moving forward with the team interview. I felt that this approach was in bad taste, but said what needed to be said to get the green light to move forward. Met with the team--roughly 11 or 12 members. Everyone asked a question. Some showed up late, so some questions were redundant or already addressed. It was clear that some did not look at my CV. I thought the group interview overall went well in terms of communicating my qualifications for the role. About a day or two later, I got an unexpected email saying that they were going to move forward with a candidate whose background better aligns with the role..... Ummmm, okay.... Translation: We have a candidate who doesn't have your level of experience, but we are 100% confident they will accept a lower pay.
