I spoke with a Northwestern Mutual representative at a career fair on campus. Emailed them a resume afterward and received an email scheduling an interview. The first interview was very easy, mostly informative. I was giving "homework" to fill out for the second interview (to take place the following week). Homework consisted of compiling referrals ie friends and family you can hawk life insurance to. Sales Reps only make commission, I didn't feel comfortable with the referral thing, and the position is a glorified knife salesman; I declined to go to the second interview.

Very casual, over the phone, expect to cold call even if they say you won't. Almost zero technical questions and seemed rather rushed. Probably wouldn't advise unless you have no other options.

First was a phone call interview. Then in person with the cheif recruiter. They had me come in for a third interview to meet two more representiatives and gave me assignements to start building my clients

The initial interview was fine. If you wish to proceed they'll give you an assignment that will take some time to prepare. If they offer you a position you'll find its mostly all networking through your personal connections for sales. Not ideal.
