For the PhD student, the most important thing is recommendation. I got a good recommendation from my former adviser and got the position. International needs GRE and TOFLE score. 2 letters and SOP are needed. To get a TA or RA position, high GRE score will be helpful.

Th einterview was good and easy-going... the interviewer was friendly, asked questions on areas of interest. There was a behavioral round, functional and technical round. I would rate it 5 on 10.

The PI introduced her direction, and then we talked about Math and the philosophy of doing math. No technical questions and everything was perfect. I received the offer after 1 month.
