I applied through e-mail. Even though I had applied for a UX Designer profile I was given a UI based task to do. When I submitted it my application was rejected and I had to explain that I had applied for the UX profile. This time I was given a UX task when I submitted it I was informed that I will be contacted by the CEO. The HR was extremely nice to me during the entire process, however that was not the case with the CEO. I have never in my life come across a CEO more rude than this person. He was being rude because he felt that he was in a position to be rude to a complete fresher. By the end of it he asked me to rework the design and provide him with three variations, which I would've done had this person not behaved the way he did. I did not want to share the same work environment as this person and so I cordially declined the opportunity the next day.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

One of the questions I was asked was that Why I had done marketing and not designing since that is what I wanted to pursue my career in. Another question he asked me was which cellphone I was using. Almost all of the questions which I was asked during the interview were in a rude fashion.

Hey there, This is Aashish here. Thanks for giving this detailed feedback. I am more than happy to address your concerns and point out our side of the story as well. 1. You applied for the UX role without any experience or portfolio to showcase the same. But you did send along a visual design portfolio & hence the team shared an UI excercise. 2. We were not convinced with the UI exercise (which is your current strength & you took 7 days to submit on the same). We did not discourage you from doing UX & shared an UX design exercise with you on your insistence. 3. Once you sent the UX exercise (you took 5 days to revert on it) we immediately scheduled a call. 4. What I did on the call was honestly tell you how the UX exercise you did was not taking care of the basic things. Let me highlight them for you here again: (a) The main screen did not have clear labels for the most important action (and the only CTA) on that screen. (b) I also asked you about the demographics and the assumptions about the user. Even those were not clear. (c) The contact/search screen was designed like web & not a mobile app. There were 12-13 rows. It was not finger friendly at all. These are just few points. I explained to you the rationale behind all the above points, asked you if you wanted to give it another shot without actually turning you down. Let’s come to the questions I asked. 1. You did B.A. (in English) then M.A (in Management)… Won’t it be natural for anyone to ask you about your education if the role that you applying for is entirely different? C’mon lets be honest here :) 2. I asked you about your phone because the exercise we gave was a mobile app design. Knowing the platform (windows/apple/android) that you are on was important so that I could give you feedback & examples based on that. Which I did in detail. Please understand that the clients and design community expect great work out of designers. It takes a lot of time, patience & hard-work to do that. Reviewing the design honestly in my opinion is the best way to help a fellow designer. I have been doing this for last 10 years of my life. Of course a few designers don’t like it when I give my feedback.. But that’s my job! Pardon me if I sounded rude. Please note the feedback was about the design and not the designer. I am extremely proud of our team at NetBramha. I loved your energy on all the interactions but the quality of design was not there yet. Challenge us. We will improve. But we expect the same from you too. Cheers.
