Solicité el puesto a través de un captador. El proceso duró 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en NTT DATA (Londres, Inglaterra)
Entrevista
I was approached by an NTT Data recruiter who was very friendly, honest and knowledgeable. We had a number of calls and then was invited for an interview with two people at the same or higher grade.
The first interview was great, their office environment looked really good and I found them to be really friendly and respectful. Although I was not aware of the company and their work, they made the effort to explain who they were and what my role was going to be. I felt really positive and interested. The interview went really well and I was then invited to a final interview with two directors, where I would also have to present for 10 min on one of my previous projects.
This is where things started going wrong. Although the interview had been arranged several days in advance, I received a message on the day that one of the interviewers couldn't make it and someone else was going to replace him. That's fine. However, when I arrived there, I was told that the new interviewer couldn't make it either and was going to arrive late.
The interview started with only one of the interviewers. From the start it became apparent that he didn't know how to conduct the interview and without any introduction he started picking random things from my CV and asking random questions around some numbers from one of my past projects. I answered but he was not pleased and kept insisting on finding out particular details and numbers. I felt that he was aggressive in his approach and the discussion felt negative. The second interviewer arrived half-way through, and seemed to be unprepared for the interview and was asking similar questions that I had already discussed.
Then I was rushed to do my presentation. I was told that I will have 10 min to present but then was interrupted repeatedly throughout my presentation with random questions around details. This was very disruptive. The whole interview was consumed on the 2 interviewers focusing only on 3-4 lines of my CV and challenging me for everything that was written there. There were no questions around behaviour, skills or knowledge. It felt more like a police interrogation rather than them being genuinely interested in me. I was also asked repeatedly why I applied for the role, although they are the ones that approached me!
When my time came to ask questions it was more than clear that they were in a hurry to finish the interview and leave.
What a huge disappointment. They seem like a promising growing firm, part of a bigger brand, with some genuinely nice people and really professional recruiters but I think they will struggle to get any good quality candidates with such an arrogant and aggressive leadership culture.
