I applied online to UX Specialist position at Nike in June, 2016 and the process took about 2 months. My interview experience was awful in terms of communication I had with HR, although the interviews that I had with people from UX department were really nice and professional.
I had a phone screening with HR Specialist, an onsite interview with the manager of the department and Skype interview with the global director of the department in US.
Phone screening was a disaster. HR Specialist scheduled a phone call and she didn't call on the day and at the time she promised. I called and emailed her but she didn't reply. After that day, she emailed and said she was sorry that she couldn't make it (without any proper explanation) and wanted to schedule a phone call again.
That phone call was very brief and included only some basic questions. After that, I had interviews with people from UX department. That interviews included questions about my background and responsibilities that the job required. The interviewers were professional, knowledgeable, and friendly people who actually made me comfortable during the interviews.
However, between those interviews I had to communicate with the HR department to schedule interviews, ask some questions etc. They were unresponsive and they didn't inform me well which made me really frustrated as I would expect better communication from a large company like Nike. After weeks of waiting, I contacted them and told them that I was frustrated with the communication and I was still waiting for the outcome of my interview. They said they hired an internal candidate and wanted to do a feedback call.
In that feedback call, they gave me feedback and I also gave them feedback about the interview process. They said they were sorry about the experience that I had. They scheduled a call again for a month later, because they liked me but they didn't know what the situation would be there in the near future. However, that phone call also did not happen!
So, overall, bad interview experience, nice and professional people to work with. But I don't think I would ever want to apply to Nike again.
