Envié una solicitud electrónica. El proceso duró 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Motava en jun 2021

      Entrevista

First step was a general, typical phone screen. Went through my background and exposure, company services, etc. Second round was a huge escalation in intensity. Was asked to select at random a domain relating to my hobbies. Was then asked to spent 2 minutes to pick out my top 3 recommendations, based on what I saw. This turned out to be one of the worst interviews I've ever had. I made sure to verbalize my logic as I made observations. That two minutes extended to about 30 minutes; it seemed the interviewer was looking for specific answers even though he insisted that wasn't the case. Then I spent another very uncomfortable ~45 min listening to the interviewer pick apart my answers. A few things from throughout the 1+ hour interview that stuck out to me: ~ My observations about content and user experience changes that were informed by my knowledge of the topic were immediately dismissed as not technical enough. so what was the point of choosing a site related to my hobby? ~One of my three recommendations was to develop content so that the different mentions of the topics could be linked back to the dedicated content pages. Aka content development and link strategy. In the review, the interviewer mentioned that I could have recommended creating new urls for certain topics for backlinking purposes. I suppose in the two minute hot seat scramble, I forgot to use the phrase "linking strategy" or "backlinking", and instead just described it. I disagree that it should matter enough to make a criticism out of it. ~ I was asked to use a tool during the interview that I was unfamiliar with, and I was very upfront about this fact. Then was asked if knew what some term was. Then it was revealed that the term was a tool-specific metric. Then we moved onto something else. That was confusing. All in all, I felt like my few minute hot seat was not a fair representation of what I knew or could do. I later also realized that if my responses were being screened in this way that made me puzzled and frustrated, I wouldn't fit in anyway. although the two minutes passed by too quickly for me, the interview felt eons-long, and was ultimately an antagonizing waste of time.
