*This is a brand new position* There’s a 30 minute phone call with the recruiter and then they’ll ask you to make a PowerPoint about anything you’d like. They say that it’ll be referenced throughout the rest of the interview process. Next is a 30 minute zoom with the hiring manager and then 2 more 30 minute zoom interviews with members of the team. After that they wanted me to come into the office to meet the hiring manager (same one from zoom interview #1) plus another team member onsite. They pay for your parking. Remember the PowerPoint I mentioned? It wasn’t even brought up once. In person interviews are 30 minutes each and it’s basically them asking you if YOU have any remaining questions about the position. After the in person interviews I waited 4 days for them to send me a generic email telling me they moved forward with other candidates and to check the careers page for real time postings. I email the recruiter and the hiring manager thanking them for the time and asked for feedback on how I could’ve improved and they said it was my outfit that was not business enough and the fact that I didn't jot down notes during my onsite tour. I was honestly quite upset at first that I didn’t get the position since they were my #1 priority. I work remote and didn't have a suit to wear so I wore pants and a top. I then check the careers page and the SAME position was reposted the SAME morning I got the denial email! 6 steps total (including the PowerPoint) which took about a month from start to finish. At first, I was really upset because I actually saw myself excelling at this new position and was already thinking of processes plus really aligning myself with the initiatives but in the end the excuse of my clothes and a notebook being the reason I was not hired showed me that they only looked at appearance and not quality and skills.
