One of the most unprofessional interviews I have experienced. After I checked in with the receptionist I was left to sit in the waiting area for about 20-25 minutes. After this time a gentleman walking by asked what I was interviewing for. He said he would let the interviewer know I was there. 10 minutes later I was bought in to an office while 2 men worked - not one of them acknowledged me and I quickly realized I would be having my interview with an audience. When it came time to meet the 2nd interviewer I was told he was in a meeting and would call me later . That call never happened. As a recruiter the way they treat candidates speaks volumes on their culture and how they treat their people. I was also interviewed by the executive assistant for some reason and by no one on the recruiting team . HUGE waste of time.

My initial phone interview was one month ago, during that time the company was in the process of establishing their California presence. I understand that getting something off the ground in a new territory is a large undertaking and gave them the benefit of the doubt. When we did set the in-person interview I was scheduled to meet with one of the equity partners at 2pm. I arrived at 1:55 and he was promptly paged by the front desk. The receptionist tried several other times to contact him over the next 20 minutes but was unable to reach him. At 2;44 I had not seen or talked to anyone about my appointment so I decided to leave. I understand that things get hectic and there are always fires to put out, I'm not unreasonable, had someone come out and told me as much and asked me to hang around or come back in an hour, I definitely would have. The level of professionalism and lack of respect for one's time is why I ultimately walked out. A recruiter is more effective if they believe in the company, it's direction and management. I could not in good conscience try to convince someone to work there when I have first hand experience of how poorly they treat candidates. The interview process is usually a window in to what working there would be like, so at least I found out before signing on.
