      I received a call from a recruiter who then passed my resume onto Kite HR. They called and interviewed me, then passed me on to the hiring Manager who did a phone interview. The phone interview went well and I was scheduled to do a face to face interview in Santa Monica office with 7 people over the course of 5 hours. I left the interview feeling as though I did ok. In my opinion I would have scored myself with a 7 out of 10. I have the credentials but feel that my nervousness may have lessened that score. As a professional courtesy, I sent them a thank you email and requested them to join my LinkedIn network so that we could share industry info, network, and serve as a resource in our industry. Only one out of seven people even responded. Two weeks go by. No word. I finally reach out to the recruiter to get an update. He tells me they went with another candidate. It seemed logical for me to ask for an explanation ‘why’ ...how did I fall short? What can I improve on? His answer from Kite was ‘it as a CLOSE race.’ Well, much to my surprise and confusion, several weeks later other job positions similar to what I had originally interviewed for was now being posted. I sent in my resume and continue to receive 3-4 phone calls from recruiters to know If I am interested in Kite. No progress, nibbles, or even bites. Why is this? In my opinion. Here are my reasons: I believe that there is agism going on. I believe they don’t want to hire experienced and talented managers . They prefer to get someone younger and cheaper. Please note, I was ok with less money and didn’t need any big titles. I only want fair compensation for a fair day of work. In closing, I welcome feedback for greater insight.
