      Solicitud

Solicité el puesto por otro medio. El proceso duró 2 días. Acudí a una entrevista en John Perez Graphics & Design (Richardson, TX) en jun 2010

      Entrevista

Originally was contacted from an unknown number by a man who ended up giving me a fake name and would not tell me the company name but told me the address of the company and the time of the interview along with a few job description details. Was greeted by an employee at the door who let me in, because the door was locked, and doors were locked behind me to which I then had to sign several agreements up front. Owner then greeted me and told me his real name and said he didn't want to tell me his real name on the phone. Then I took 3 tests. A verbal test for drugs and lifestyle, that also asked questions about my political stance, a math test of 50 questions in 10 minutes with incredibly long questions, and a test for artistic ability requiring me to draw the owner's office. Employees seemed uptight and unhappy like they weren't allowed to acknowledge me. The office was small. None of my interview question that I had for them were answered. I asked questions ranging from if they were replacing someone, to what software I'd be using and was told they could not share any information with me, even the software I'd need to use. I was told that there would be no PTO for 1 year, after 1 year I'd be given a week, and that inability to be prompt is unacceptable. I then was told that someone was fired because they were 15 minutes late, because they had to take their sick dog to the vet to be put down, and that was no excuse to be late. I was asked about my family situation and it was implied that I would have no home life, and would be working more than 40 hour work weeks as the norm. The benefits described over the phone implied the same standards as other companies, but then offered much less than other companies I've worked for, in the interview. There was no 401k and the health benefits were weak in comparison to other places I've worked for, with 3-4 weeks lacking in time off, and no sick time. There didn't seem to be many pros to the job except for the work itself. Again, the employees did not seem happy. Think people sitting quietly at their desks, head down, trying to not make eye contact with you and looking panicked and desperate. The salary was also much lower than the bracket I have worked in for my skills. It was the most uncomfortable interview experience I've ever had.

      Preguntas de entrevista [4]

      Pregunta 1

Many of the math questions took more than a minute to comprehend. An example would go something like this: "A train is traveling 45mph and leaves at 4:30 am with 4 stops on its schedule. The first stop picks up 214 passengers and takes 15 minutes to get to the next stop, which picks up 31 passengers. If each stop after the first takes 5 minutes more than the last, with a 14 minute resting period in between, what time will it be when the train reaches its destination and then makes a round trip?" No. I am not exaggerating.

      Pregunta 2

Are you a republican or a democrat?

      Pregunta 3

If you were with your family at dinner, and I called about something that needed to be done at work, would you drop what you are doing to come to work?

      Pregunta 4

I asked them "Why are you seeking to fill this position? Are you trying to replace someone?"
