When I was hired it was a one on one interview, we have group interviews now as well but still have some one on one depending on applicants. For my experience I had 3 interviews, a phone interview to check my availability that I had placed down was accurate also they asked me a couple of preliminary questions about why I chose to apply for JCPenney. My first interview was with the Training Supervisor. She really talked about the ethics of the company. What is to be expected of me when I was hired and then asked me several easy to answer questions. After we talked for about 10 minutes she left to talk to the Assistant store manager. She was free for a second interview so I went to her office and she asked me a lot of similar questions and some more indepth questions. Such as when I face a difficult situation what do I do. If I was to have a cold would I let that affect my outlook towards customers? Can I put my own personal problems aside while at work to be able to be there fully for customers? After the Interview she made me an offer right on the spot.
The whole process took a little under 30 minutes.

Can you think of a time where you have received amazing customer service, and what did it look like?
Pretty standard. Competency questions, asking about background, several role play situations. Was interviewed by only one person and the process took around forty five minutes start to finish. Interviewer was very friendly and informative about the expectations of the position. I was kept in the loop during the entire process and the subsequent follow up was done in a timely and professional fashion. Overall, a positive experience.

interviewed with store manager. Friendly, professional and quick. We went through job requirements, my past experience and was introduced to other department managers during my time at the interview. Manager made me feel at ease.

Interviewed with General Manager and Assistant Manager. Was a very relaxed and comfortable process. Afterwards I was called by tje General Manager 3 days later and offered the position. Started a few days later.
