Since I had worked with several of the staff previously, the process was pretty easy. There is a set of questions in the online process. It's main purpose is to make you think about why you want to do this work, your experience working with people having developmental disabilities. There is a background check, required by the State, for this type of work. They check details against the database looking for problems related to the work. Items such as: domestic violence, sexual abuse, drug offenses, theft and shoplifting. They want people to have a vehicle with insurance so that workers can take consumers out into the community.
