The interview went very well and the project managers I spoke with were friendly and professional. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the hiring process.
A week after my interview, I received a call with a verbal offer. Ecstatic, I accepted and was told I’d here back the following week for a call with HR. The call was….weird. As the first question they asked me was how much I currently made (which is not legal in California). A little thrown off, I obliged and we proceeded to go over my current benefits. Two days pass and I still received no offer letter, but a call from HR again to clarify some minor details about my current benefits. After that call I waited another week to get ANOTHER call from HR about my wanted salary. I gave them the range and I was told I’d receive my offer letter shortly. Another couple weeks go by and it’s radio silent. I emailed HR to inquire about my offer letter I was told I’d be receiving a week ago.
WELL….this offer never came. HR called me a total of 4 time s to just ghost me after offering me the position and speaking with me several times. This is one of the most unprofessional HR departments I’ve ever seen. I understand things change and my status could change. However, it is unprofessional to keep promising an offer then ghosting a candidate you told you would get on immediately.
My advice to anyone applying is DO NOT QUIT YOUR JOB. Also, HR needs to be more accountable.
