      Meeting started quite late because the hiring manager couldn't find the meeting room. I wondered if it was lack of preparation or lack of respect for punctuality. During the interview, the hiring manager tried to impress me with all the technical certifications he had. But the impression I had was that he was only good at memorising and studying for exams but have challenges applying them. Seems like a laundry list for display purposes due to self-confidence issues. As part of the interview process, I prepared answers to a list of questions he required me to work on. Although he was happy with my answers, he still requested me to send him the answers to his private email instead of his official work email. I discovered eventually, he wanted the answers for his personal use, instead of for his company or the purpose of the interview. During and after the interview, he assured me that he wanted me to get on board quickly. During the waiting period, he contacted me and sought some business opinions which I did provide faithfully. So things looked very positive or that's what I thought. He supposed to come back to me in 2 weeks but it ended up a few months. Towards the end of the waiting period, I followed up with him professionally and cordially but surprisingly he reacted in a hostile manner and accused me of questioning his authority. Until now, I am not sure what led him to behave that way. In summary, I initially had a good impression of the role and the hiring manager but it turned out otherwise. There are gaps in terms of his sincerity, integrity and professionalism. Seems like the interview process was for his personal gain, not so much for getting the right candidate for the job. It was a blessing in disguise for not getting the job offer. Otherwise, I would have regretted my decision to work under him. I really hope he is not representative of the company he works with.
