Absolutely terrible experience. Originally applied for managers position which I was rejected for but HR asked if I would be interested in Business Development role which sounded a really great proposition as I thought they were a respectable company and the OTE was good. When I attended the 2 managers hadn't even bothered to read my CV before hand. My integrity was questioned based on recent job changes and after I explained they kept asking me the same question over and over again. I was asked whether I would be happy working with a manager younger than me which I found a very strange question. They promised to give me feedback the same day and I heard nothing for a week. I chased them up myself and they then invited me back to meet the director who asked me the same questions about my recent job changes. I was promised to get feedback the following week and heard nothing for nearly 3 weeks and it actually ended up being myself who had to chase them up again for an answer. In the end it was a no (by email) as they thought that the salary wouldn't be enough for me and I would quit. Absolutely disgusting!! I was even asked how much money I would be happy earning when I was in the interview and I said 30k (the advertisement said £35k OTE btw). If that money isn't achievable then don't advertise it and lie to candidates. Seems to me that a lot of people quit which is why they feel I might be a flight risk. Perhaps they need to look at themselves if people quit all the time? The feedback also said that if a more senior position becomes available they would be happy to interview me again. There is clearly no communication between them and HR as I applied for a more senior position in the first place and it was a no. Perhaps HR should have run my CV past them before making me waste a month of my life hoping I'd get the job. If they had of read my cv first then it could have been a straight no. Simple! STAY WELL CLEAR FOLKS!

How would you feel about having a younger manager than you?

Advised it was a 2 step interview process. 1st being a chat with the management team and the 2nd if you're unlucky enough a presentation about the business. Which in reality turned into a 5 step interview process. 1st initial telephone call interview. 2nd interview with the manager. 3rd presentation to sales manager. 4th telephone mock trial about the organisation. 5th telephone interview about the sales process. The company has really high staff turnover and the management have been promoted with no real experience or confidence in who they want to employ. The talk a good game but they have a really basic and old-fashioned sale process, robot-like with a script and if there is any likely hood of being side tracked off the script it's a big no no. Please be aware they want a reader more than a sales guy with knowledge and a brain. The office looks nice and friendly but the management leaves a lot to be desired, constant unconfidence in themselves and lack of experience makes them a very unprofessional company, thus enabling the dynamics of a high sales staff turnover.
