The exam given in college is a group test which we do not explicitly monitor and let students submit their answer booklets after completion of test. Generally most of the students score well in this and are requested to come for face to face interaction. Its in the face to face interaction that we try to ask some simple real software programming problems to the students and based on their approach, we select the candidates. It appears that you are not getting actual hands on computer programming skills in your college and most of your knowledge is still theoretical.
