Equinox is well known in the industry to be the sweatshop of the EPC world with high turn over rate. Although I never worked here, going through the interview process made it clear how employees would be treated (as a literal human resource). Now I know why former employees joke about this place and its bad reputation. The only reason why customers still continue to use them for engineering services is because of their low price.
Probably the worst part about the hiring process is the sleezy recruiting manager. He is constantly spamming Linkedin for openings with the intent of creating a list of eligible employees to poach as they win work. Any engineer in this industry has likely gotten unsolicited messages from him at some point in time, so I'm sure you all know very well who this guy is. Talking to him is like talking to a used car salesman. I would advise to reveal as LITTLE information to him as possible because it's clear he's just trying to scope out ALL your details to figure out how much they can lowball you on the offer. The guy knows NOTHING technical about the business or what your role will be. But don't worry, once you get past this guy, it's ultimately the department manager who gets the final say.
The hiring manager is very arrogant and is what primarily turned me off from this company. Only work here if you need to, otherwise just use it as a stepping stone for going someplace better!
