It began with an initial HR screening to evaluate communication skills, academic background in Computer Science, and interest in cybersecurity roles such as SOC and vulnerability assessment. After clearing this round, an assessment was provided, where a documented write-up on a cybersecurity topic was required based on independent research. This evaluated understanding of core concepts, clarity of thought, and ability to articulate technical information. This was followed by a technical interview focusing on key areas such as vulnerability assessment and penetration testing (VAPT), networking fundamentals, incident response, and common web application vulnerabilities including SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), and authentication-related issues. The discussion also covered familiarity with security tools such as Nmap, Burp Suite, Metasploit, and Wireshark, along with scenario-based questions to assess practical knowledge and problem-solving approach. The overall process was structured and aligned with industry expectations, with interviewers maintaining a professional and technically focused approach throughout.
