      Entrevista de Software Engineer

      1 dic 2016
      Candidato de entrevista anónimo
      Richardson, TX
      Sin oferta
      Experiencia negativa
      Entrevista normal

      Solicitud

Solicité el puesto a través de un captador. El proceso duró 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en E4D Technologies (Richardson, TX) en abr 2016

      Entrevista

I was contacted by a recruiter who scheduled a Skype interview, which went well. I was called back in for an onsite interview the following week. I was interviewed by 4 different groups. In each group, at least one person admitted not having reviewed my CV, and asked me to describe my background and experience. After the third time this came up, I wished I had recorded my first answer since it probably was the most sincere and least bored presentation I had managed. One gentleman spent half an hour asking me a basically indecipherable question about "bons" and point fields that basically boiled down to an edge detection algorithm. The answer was simple, it just took forever to get to the question. I'm no stranger to working with folks who are not native English speakers. In this case, however, one of the 10 other people in the room could have chimed in with "bone" to expedite things. I'll not waste more time on specifics of the rest of the day. However, its worth noting that, between conversations with recruiters, E4D HR, Skype interview and onsite, I spent about 10-15 hours of my time on this. At the end of the process, I was not offered the job. No big deal - I wasn't all that excited about it. The problem is that I also never received a response of ANY kind, from the company or recruiter. I emailed both the HR rep and the developer lead who I had been dealing with, thanking them for their time and inviting them to ask any other questions they may have. I copied the recruiter on this. Eight months later, and they still haven't filled that position. I'm not annoyed that I didn't get the job. (I had other options, one of which has turned out to be amazing.) I'm annoyed that, given the amount of time and effort I put into the interview process, they didn't consider it worth their time to at least send a "sorry, but we're gonna pass" email, or phone call. That's insulting, and in complete disregard for my time, which is NOT free. If this is how they treat strangers, imagine how they'll treat YOU when they're the ones writing your paycheck, and you have little or no power. TL;DR Avoid at all costs. Unprofessional, disorganized and, in general, Not Nice People.

Describe a program to rotate and move a robot arm. (As if picking up an item and placing it on a nearby table.)
