CANDIDATES PROCEED WITH CAUTION!! I recently interviewed with Duluth trading company for the assistant manager position. The initial interview was what was called a spark interview. Essentially it was a pre-recorded set of questions that you work through via an app or link. An awkward process but I understand it helps weeds out candidate that may not fit the position. From there it was on to a face to face interview with the store manager. After having been recommended by the store manager I moved onto the district manager. Now during this process I was reminded regularly that there was a sense of urgency around this process as the store was understaffed and holidays were upon us. So I made myself available to every request. After interviewing with the district manager I was told I had made it to the final candidates interview which was a formality with the HR department. Before proceeding with the HR department I additionally had to complete a personality evaluation. After speaking with HR I was told it was down to myself and an internal candidate. As we concluded I was told that the store manager would reach out to me but the end of the day. I followed up with the parties involved to extend a thank you for the opportunity to interview . Well two days went by and I followed up with the store manager. The manager claimed that there was difficulty in connecting with the district manager. Ok fair enough. Well after another day when by I received a text claiming they were putting the position on hold and would revisit it after the new year. So much for the sense of urgency! Again I wrote a follow up letter to say thank you. As of now we are in the middle of January and I never received any follow up and the position has been pulled down. So whether it was filled or they went a different direction I feel it was completely UNPROFESSIONAL how the process was handled. I went out of my way to make my schedule convenient for this company to only be shown zero respect for my time. So if you decide to interview with Duluth trading company you've been warned. It's a grinding process that seemed very deceiving.
