hiring manager started the interview stating that I am not qualified for the position for data scientist (apparently, you require a master in data science) and will interview me for the role of data analyst instead. The interview proceeded without me knowing the JD for data analyst. Upon further probing, the company has a lot of legacy excel projects which was abandoned due to quitting of data team, and that the company has no analytics tool in the system. only basic SQL tools through azure.
