Applied online and received correspondence from HR shortly after. Next, there was a phone screening wherein the in-person interview was scheduled for the following week (at the Laval office). The interview board was comprised of four people: a manager, laboratory engineer, R&D engineer, and the HR representative who screened me for the position. There were some general questions about GPA/resume/experience followed by some job specific questions and what I believe were problem solving questions (unsure because they were really vague and entirely unlike the questions that other engineering companies use). Then, I was given an opportunity to field questions. Each interviewer apart from the manager was pleasant and informative about how we would potentially interact. The manager very short with me when answering questions and displayed body language that made it clear that he was either not listening or thought my answers were inadequate. When asked what he does and how I'd interact with him he simply answered, "I manage." which didn't clarify how we'd interface at all. Next, the laboratory engineer gave me a tour of the lab and asked questions about the equipment as well as some theoretical questions to test my understanding of various concepts and gauge my intuition. This part of the process was great since it gave me a chance to take a closer look at the equipment and see the previous intern.
