      Entrevista

      I was first contacted and asked to take an online programming test. It was pretty easy if you have any C++ skills. Next I had an online pair coding with a phone interview. The code questions were fairly easy, some of the other questions were from a CS exam, lots of O(n) questions. Next I was asked to come in for an onsite interview. I was told they were not interested after the onsite. Had I passed the onsite I would have been brought in for another onsite interview. Not sure how many more would have been after this. They seemed more interested in you're ability to answer questions than your body of work. The job description matched up perfectly with my experience and I had tons of examples at being successful at doing exactly what they wanted. I was not given any reasons for not continuing so I can only guess. Everyone was very nice and I realize this is the way interviews are done today, so it's not just an issue here. It just gets old having to go through this process and consistently being the most productive coder at any company I join, but not fitting into the cookie cutter image. I have studied for this interview type in the past, but felt for this position that I wanted to show my body of work and let them decide based on experience, rather than popping out answers that anyone that studies hard can win. There's a free copy of 'Cracking the Coding Interview' online. Study that book and you'll get through their process. Very nice people, nice office, seems like fun work, so it was worth the time and experience. Just disappointing that so many companies need good help, but have no idea how to interview for it.

      Pregunta 1

      Lots of O(n) questions. This is a pet peeve of mine as in all my years of coding this has never come up. What has come up is the best data structure or sorting algorithm for the job. But study up on this to impress them.

      Linked list coding, problem solving, some behavior questions. Not a lot of questions on whether you can create and ship software, more on if you are a good student.
