I wanted to share some candid feedback about my interview experience because I was genuinely excited about the opportunity.
Overall, it was one of the most challenging candidate experiences I’ve had. Most of the interviewers appeared to rely heavily on a scripted list of questions, often scrolling through a document during the conversation and selecting questions as they went. As a result, the interviews felt transactional rather than conversational, and I didn’t feel there was much opportunity for them to understand my background or experiences beyond my prepared responses.
The Bar Raiser interview stood out as the exception. She took the time to introduce herself, explain her role, and create a more natural dialogue, which made the conversation much more engaging.
In contrast, several of the other interviews felt quite robotic. I also felt that one interviewer spent a significant portion of the discussion talking about her own experiences rather than learning about mine. Given how much I wanted this role, I left feeling disappointed that the process didn’t allow for a more meaningful two-way conversation.
