      Entrevista

I applied for a role at BlackRock through their job portal in the second week of March 2026. In the third week of May, I received an email inviting me to schedule an initial call with a hiring recruiter. During this conversation, we discussed my experience, salary expectations, reasons for applying to BlackRock, and my notice period. I was informed that interviews would be scheduled the following week. Shortly afterward, I received a calendar invite to select a date and time for the interview in the last week of May. However, on the scheduled day, neither of the two interviewers joined the call. After waiting for 15 minutes without any prior communication or update, I left the meeting. This lack of communication felt unprofessional. I was then sent another calendar invite to reschedule, but the interview was cancelled by HR just one day before the scheduled date. A third attempt followed, but this interview was also cancelled a day in advance. By this point, I had largely lost interest in the opportunity. Nevertheless, when I received yet another invite, I sought confirmation from HR that the interview would proceed as planned and received assurance that it would. During the rescheduled interview, only one of the two interviewers—a Lead System Engineer—joined the call, and he arrived 10 minutes late. I was close to leaving the meeting but decided to stay when he eventually joined. No apology was offered for the delay; instead, he mentioned experiencing technical issues. The interview began with a discussion of my background, followed by a detailed review of my most recent project’s architecture, which lasted around 30 minutes. This was followed by approximately 20 minutes spent solving a basic Java problem. It appeared that the interviewer was expecting a more optimized solution with better time complexity than the one I provided. At the end, I was asked if I had any questions. Throughout the interview, the interviewer seemed disengaged, frequently looking at his screen rather than interacting, which gave the impression of a lack of interest. Overall, the entire process was disorganized and left me with a negative experience.
