I had a very disappointing interview experience with Armtec that showed a lack of transparency, consistency, and respect for candidates’ time. I was initially contacted by a recruiter for an Industrial Engineer position. Before agreeing to proceed, I clearly communicated my salary expectations and explicitly stated that my range was on the higher end of what they were offering. I also made it clear that I would only consider applying if they were comfortable with that range. The recruiter relayed this information to the hiring team, and I was told they wanted to move forward anyway. The interview process began with a virtual interview with the hiring manager, followed by an in-person interview with multiple stakeholders, including HR from Coachella. At this point, I was told there would only be two interviews. Despite this, I was later given an additional technical assignment, which I completed thoroughly and submitted on time. I was then asked to attend yet another virtual meeting to walk through the assignment. After completing all interviews and the assignment, I waited nearly two weeks with no communication. Eventually, the recruiter contacted me with an offer that was below the salary range I clearly communicated from the very beginning (about 7K under). When I asked if they could raise about 2k more than what they offered, the recruiter followed up the next day—not with a compromise, but with a significantly lower offer (approximately $13K less than what they had mentioned just one day earlier). This sudden reduction in compensation felt extremely unprofessional and frankly belittling, especially after multiple interview rounds, an unpaid assignment, and repeated confirmation of my salary expectations upfront. It gave the impression that the company either does not value candidates’ time or uses compensation tactics that lack good faith. Overall, this process was disorganized and misleading. I would strongly advise future candidates to get everything in writing and to be cautious if salary expectations are discussed early but not honored later.
