I used my portfolio of websites that I have already built to explain what languages I knew. I literally had screenshots of my websites printed out, and I explained in detail how I built the pages. He would ask me questions about the code to make sure I wasn't bsing and actually knew what I was talking about. At one point he got on the white board and asked me to write a small snippet of code from each of my pages. Nothing too hard though.
