Pretty standard interview process. I had a call with HR, video call with the hiring manager, and then a 3-part panel call with the team.
I ended up not getting the offer and the feedback I received was that I'd mentioned I was interested in growth and management and they weren't planning to grow the team, so it wouldn't be a great fit. I have two thoughts about this:
1. I totally miscommunicated so that I thought I was answering "where do you see yourself in the next five years" when really they thought I was saying "this is my immediate plan for myself".
or
2. They don't plan to grow the team at all in the next five years.
If it's the former, that's totally a me problem and something I'll have to work on at the next place I interview, but if you think you might want to move up eventually, it's probably worth confirming whether or not it's the latter.
Overall, though, it was a really great interview process with very clear communication all the way through. The team was fantastic and I bet they'll be great coworkers to whoever gets the job.
